The Wallerawang Lidsdale Progress Association (WLPA) is pleased to announce that nominations are now open for the 2027 Wallerawang Lidsdale Citizen of the Year Award, recognising individuals who make an outstanding contribution to our local community.
Every community has people who go above and beyond to help others. Whether they’re volunteering their time, supporting local sporting clubs, assisting schools or helping neighbours in need, these individuals play an important role in making Wallerawang and Lidsdale wonderful places to live.
The Citizen of the Year Award provides an opportunity to recognise their efforts and celebrate the positive difference they make.
Who Can Be Nominated?
The award recognises local residents who have demonstrated dedication, generosity and a commitment to improving their community.
To be eligible, nominees must:
- Reside in the Wallerawang–Lidsdale area.
- Be an Australian citizen.
- Be 18 years of age or older.
Nominations may recognise contributions such as community volunteering, sporting achievements, involvement with local schools, caring responsibilities, charitable activities or other significant accomplishments.
You don’t need to nominate someone with a high-profile role. Sometimes, it’s the everyday acts of kindness and dedication that make the biggest difference.
Why Nominate Someone?
Recognising community contributions is an important way to acknowledge the people who help keep our towns connected and thriving.
From long-serving volunteers and dedicated sporting club members to individuals who quietly support those around them, there are many deserving people throughout Wallerawang and Lidsdale.

How to Submit a Nomination
Submitting a nomination is straightforward.

Step 3: Include your contact details and indicate whether you can arrange for the nominee to attend the Australia Day ceremony.
